Preliminary task

Post Filming:

The group i will be working in for the preliminary task consists of: Jade Kernohan Anna Thompson and Jess Broome

ll have to create a short film that will need to include certain shots some are:
  • Shot reverse shot
  • 180 degree rule
  • Match on action

We will need to make sure our task includes a character: opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair opposite another character, and characters exchanging a couple of lines of dialogue.

We have decided to aim our production at teenagers and young adults as it is about drug dealing and these themes are often associated with young adults because they are the people most likely to relate with them.

After Filming:

Whilst on set, we tried our hardest to include all the different shots expected to be in the piece of film and make the set we were filming in look affective. As we were in such a confined space we found it hard to include the 180 degree rule in our filming. This is an area for improvement that i i will now consider in my main task. As i will need to make sure the space we have used is big enough for all types of movement of the camera.

After uploading our film onto the editing software we decided to use (Adobe Premiere Pro CS3) we were able to cut bits to help the continuity flow better. We also added transition effects to create atmosphere within the film that was more apparent with the use of more dramatic transitions.

However we experienced several problems that in the main task we will have to overcome; we were unable to edit the sound due to the equipment that we used. The equipment failed to produce sound so we could not hear where we wanted to cut the sound out or where we wanted to add sound in.
